Vichy - Day 2
Photography by Christopher Santos
As promised, I’m going into a bit of detail about my trip to Vichy with sisterMAG . Now, you already know I fell in love with the city of Vichy, but I also fell in love with the product itself. Why, you ask? Well, for starters, I have always been a big supporter of premium cosmetics companies that are actually worth spending the money on — Vichy is one of those brands, and to be honest I really had no idea before this trip.
A little history: The city is surrounded by volcanic activity, which is the direct cause for many of the thermal springs that exist in and around Vichy. This thermal water is the only water used in the products’ formulas.
So, what’s so good about that? Hot spring water contains 15 natural minerals + antioxidants that are absolutely amazing for any woman’s skin! This is something that science can’t recreate, and I love when mother nature takes the spotlight. The spring water is not only used in products, but the whole city drinks it, baths in it, and cooks with it… yes, I tried a water sorbet.
We were lucky enough to stay at the Vichy Spa Hotel Les Célestins, which I highly recommend staying at if you ever need a spa vacation in the countryside of France. Le sigh, don’t we all! I was able to experience a Vichy thermal bath treatment and a skin consultation that consisted of the most amazing facial ever. I swear my skin is still glowing and I now have a full range of products to use in my daily skincare routine. You know I don’t discuss anything but the truth on Not Your Standard, so believe me when I say I’m in love with this brand.
A big thank you to sisterMAG and Vichy for being the best hosts!
