Trend Focus: Belt Bags

The belt bag or as some like to call it the fanny pack, has been around for decades and has had mixed feelings from a lot of us.  You couldn’t miss it in the 80s’ and it seems you can’t avoid it’s comeback to fashion now.  Although this is not it’s first return, I’ve never seen such an upgrade and wide variety of styles, from high end designers to in expensive ones – this hands free bag is coming out in all shapes and sizes and I’m totally on board.

Even though I've been obsessing over the Gucci, & Saint Laurent belt bags for the past few months, before investing I decided to test out the trend with this affordable one from Free People. After a few outings this past week, it's safe to say I love this hands free style and can't wait to wear it in more unique ways.

What I've realized is that it's quite a versatile piece, you can throw is over your shoulder, blazers, dresses or with denim like I did. It accentuates the waist and gives this sense of freedom that I could get quite use to. I now understand why this was such a hit in the 80s' - however, I am thankful it got a much needed makeover.
