My Morning Skin Care Routine

January 9, 2018

My Morning Skin Care Routine

I’ve written many posts about my favourite beauty and skincare products, however I realized I haven’t shared my own actual morning skincare routine with you! I do change up my skincare products from time to time so this combination of products will eventually change, but these are my current favourites. After all, your skin changes just like the weather does, so you have to learn to understand how your skin is reacting in certain environments. Lately, these winter days have my skin feeling and looking dry, dry and more dry which is why my morning routine is focused a bit more on hydration.

When I wake up, I immediately head to the bathroom to wash and cleanse my skin. I literally can't do anything before I do my skincare routine. I start by using the Clarins Gentle Foaming Cleanser, which has been a favourite for so many years now. I absolutely love all their cleansers, they clean off my make up (at night) and in the morning it's the perfect refresher to clean my pores and leave my skin silky soft.

After I cleanse my skin, I move on to toner. This Origin's Zero Oil Pore purifying toner is technically recommended for oily skin but I don't find you necessarily need to have oily skin to enjoy it's benefits. It has cooling mint ingredient which is so refreshing to use in the morning and it helps reduce your pores with it's salicylic acid.

Next up, I move up to my eyes. I love the Bio Effects EGF Eye Serum which is a powerful anti-aging formula that is specifically developed for the delicate eye area. I find it helps puffiness and brightens my skin under my eyes. If you want to know more, I've written an entire blog post on Bio Effects EGF Serums here.

My favourite part of my morning skin care routine is when I start to hydrate it again. I usually start by using Dr. Sebagh's light weight rose de vie serum. I've talked about my love for this product before and it's still in my top must-haves! With just a few drops, it restores tired skin and leaves a glowing complexion.

In the Winter months my skin needs a little more hydration before I apply my moisturizer,  which is where these face oils come in. I've recently become obsessed with Rodin's luxury face oils - they smell amazing and have 11 essential extracts that hydrate the skin to the most glowing complexion I could ask for. They don't feel heavy and your skin instantly soaks all their goodness up!

Last but not least, I finish with my daily moisturizer. Charlotte Tilbury's Magic Cream is a cult favourite and after using it these past few months, I quickly understand why. Charlotte has created the perfect mix of patented anti-aging, hydrating & lifting ingredients that helps transform your tired skin instantly. I love finishing off my skincare routine with this one, it's that final glow my skin needs before starting my day.
