My fist couple of days at New York fashion week are always a complete whirlwind, add a snowstorm to the mix and the chaos hits a new level. I somehow managed to be one of the only flights that wasn’t delayed or cancelled from LA, the airplane gods must have been in my favour this time! I landed in winter wonderland at 8:00 am, checked into The Dream hotel for a quick change and was off to my first show. The key to planning all my outfits this year was to focus on the coat! You can’t go wrong with a good coat and it’s the most practical thing I could wear while still feeling put together. The highlights during these first couple of days were the Cushie Ets Ochs show, Milly and Club Monaco presentation, where I purposely bumped myself into Grace Coddington! Yes, the Grace Coddington. I still pinch myself when I find myself in rooms with people I’ve looked up to for so long and admired their careers. After the first couple of shows, it was obvious that this Fall we will be seeing tailored jackets, exaggerated sleeves, wide leg trousers in ivory and whites.
