Iceland: Road To Nowhere

I have been wanting to go to Iceland for the past couple of years and I can now confirm it does not disappoint! The moment we stepped out of the airport in Reykjavik we were hit with the damp cold weather and dark skies. Not the warmest welcome but that was to be expected, just a few hours later the sun started peaking through and it was time to discover this beautiful land.

After checking into the quaint and chic Sand Hotel in Reykjavik, we grabbed some food at their amazing bakery next door and then roughly mapped out what we wanted to see. We quickly realized we needed a car to get pretty much anywhere scenic and so that's exactly what we did.

We drove for hours with really no end point in mind. Of course there was some Icelandic landmarks we wanted to cover but the in between parts were some of my favourites. The endless fields, mountains, horses and just the total emptiness of the untouched areas were truly breathtaking.
