Highlights Of The Chanel Show
Every time I get the privilege to sit at a Chanel show it is truly one of those pinch me moments. I know a lot of people started blogging for many different reasons but for me fashion has been running through my veins ever since I could put on my first pair of shoes. Naturally, I always feel overwhelmed to be experiencing Karl Lagerfeld’s vision come to life right in front of me.
You never know what to expect when you walk into the Chanel show, but you can bet it won't be subtle and will most likely top the season before. Sure enough this past Paris Fashion Week, I enter the Grand Palais to see a gigantic waterfall as the backdrop for the Chanel show.
For Spring Summer 2018, Karl was inspired by plastic transparency, taking what we know as the raincoat to the most extreme level. PVC plastic took the spotlight here with full plastic oversized duster coats, knee high boots and playful accessories. All coordinating with the classic tweeds and quilted bags we expect season after season.
The mix of textures and colours were so incredible to watch walking down the runway, it's one of those inspiring moments when you look around and realize why you got into this industry in the first place.
