These chocolate banana bites are incredibly delicious and easy. I made these in 30 minutes late last night, popped them in the freezer, and out came my new favourite snack a couple of hours later! The banana somehow magically tastes like banana ice cream when frozen…yes, that’s right. The best part is the different topping options…I opted for coconut and almonds this time, which I have absolutely no complaints about. Next round I think I will try cranberries and espresso beans!
Frozen Chocolate Banana Bites
1. Cut as many bananas as you want in pieces. Any size you like, I did mine about 1 inch thick.
2. Melt the chocolate of your preference with a double broiler. You can do this by heating some water in a saucepan on low heat and placing a smaller pot or heat proof bowl that fits snug on top. Place the chocolate pieces in the second pot and stir frequently with a spatula until completely melted.
3. Proceed to coat the bites one by one by dropping them with a spoon into the melted chocolate. Arrange them on a sheet of cooking paper in any pan that you can safely leave in your freezer and sprinkle with your toppings (or leave them plain). Place in freezer for 2-3 hours.
4. Once your chocolate bananas are fully frozen, move them to an air tight container and keep them in your freezer until chocolate cravings kick in!
