5 Things To Watch Right Now

November 1, 2017

5 Things To Watch Right Now

Whether I’m on a plane or spending Sunday in evening at home, I love watching a good series, movie or documentary. Here’s what made my list this past month:

Hulu: The Handmaid’s Tale

My friends have been recommending Margaret Atwood’s The Handmaid’s Tale since it came out and I kept putting it on my ‘To Watch” list but never got around to starting it. When it won the Emmy this year for Outstanding Drama Series, I finally made time to start watching this story and I am so glad I did. Outstanding is actually an understatement for how this problematic and political story can be told with such creativity. Stop everything and go binge these show!

Netflix: Gaga: Five Foot Two

Although I’ve always respected her art, creativity, and message she delivers to the world, I’ve never been the biggest fan of Lady Gaga – until seeing her new documentary. I really recommend giving this a watch as you see a very different side of Lady Gaga that she doesn’t always show the world, and if you didn’t respect her work ethic before, this documentary will prove you wrong.

HBO:The Defiant Ones

While this mini series focuses on the story of Dr. Dre and Jimmy Iovine building their own empires, you don’t have to be a fan of Rap music to enjoy this motivating documentary. The 4 part series tell the story of the 2 men’s rise to success and will leave you feeling motivated.

Movie: The Big Sick

The Big Sick is a romantic comedy that tells the true story of real-life comedian Kumail Nanjiani and his struggle between staying true to his family’s traditions and following his heart.
